If quarantine has taught us anything, it is that where we lack the inability to do stuff with our friends, technology makes up for it. Among Us is the brand new game on the app store that is taking the world by storm. Essentially the game consists of a group of people. Most of the people are crewmates and a few are the imposters. Crewmates are given a list of various tasks in wish they go into different rooms to complete said tasks. For instance, tasks can range from fixing wires in communications or card swiping in admin. In addition to these tasks, crewmates must make sure that they look out for anyone looking suspiciously close to them. If they do see someone looking “sus” or suspicious they must run away and make sure they do not get killed and call an emergency meeting. They also can report a dead body, however, when reporting dead bodies, both crewmates and imposters can also do this. Crewmates may see a dead body and who killed the body or they may just see the body. On the other hand, imposters may self-report to make it seem as if they are not the imposter.
In both emergency meetings and reporting dead body meetings, the players come together into the cafeteria near the red button used to call emergency meetings to discuss who they think the imposter or imposters are. They use the chat icon to discuss proof or suspicion first and after they all vote on who they think is the imposters. You additionally can skip the vote if you have no suspicions on who the imposter or imposters are. The game continues until all the imposters are defeated by being voted out by other players.
All in all, Among Us is a game that makes it easier to quarantine without friends. It is games like these that truly are getting us through these tough times.
