Here’s the best sneaker’s release of the week we’ve spotted for you!
Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship University Red
Angelo Baque’s New York label revisits Bruce Kilgore’s design with the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship University Red.
Originally launched in 1984, the Air Ship was one of the first pairs worn by Michael Jordan for the Bulls. However, in February 1985, the NBA sent a letter to Nike informing them that the pair “does not comply with the uniform code for the league”. That’s why, at the time, this b-ball silhouette was nicknamed Banned. Despite these circumstances, decades later it’s still part of the swoosh catalog, and a new collaboration follows those with Nigel Sylvester and A Ma Maniére.

In terms of materials, it’s made from 20% recycled materials, divided between the off-white and gray base and inserts, and the green elements.
