Having to distance yourself from close friends and halt daily activities such as going out to eat or having a drink at the bar is bound to make you go a little berserk. It’s difficult to keep sane while being in the house for the majority of the day if that is not a part of your normal routine.
Here are five activities that can ease your mind while navigating through this coronavirus quarantine:
1. Take a Walk
It may seem like a docile task, but taking walks and getting a daily burst of fresh air has been proven to increase your endorphins, which essentially means it can make you happier. It is also an easy way to lose a bit of extra weight without doing anything too strenuous.
2. Pick up a New Hobby
We all have that one task that we always told ourselves that we wanted to learn. Whether it’s painting, knitting, or baking fresh bread, quarantine is giving you the extra time that you always wanted to learn something new. Picking up a hobby is bound to make the day go by faster and it’s never hurt to gain a new skill.
3. Find a Side-Hustle
Who wouldn’t want to make extra money? You may be rolling your eyes at this one because quarantine is the first break you’ve gotten from work in years. But, look into finding a side hustle such as creating Youtube tutorials, selling products on eBay or craigslist, or becoming a virtual assistant.
4. Spring Cleaning is a must
Clutter seems to find us in all shapes and sizes. Now, there is more than enough time to re-organize and get rid of any old things that you don’t need anymore. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in your homes, then you might as well make it a space that is neat and tidy.
5. Work Out at Home
If you’ve been avoiding exercise because you haven’t had enough time, that is no longer an excuse. There are a plethora of online workout videos available on YouTube and now is your chance to begin building the body you’ve always wanted. If nothing else, it’s an opportunity to pass by the extra time that you have and burn some calories.
It is a difficult period for everyone that is living through quarantine, be sure to do a few activities that will help to upkeep your mental health during these times.
