#CantTellMeNothing – Rapper Kanye West’s “Famous” track reignites feud with singer Taylor Swift, West’s Wife, Kim Kardashian, Gets Involved

Now it’s been over a decade since Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech at the VMA Awards in 2009. Due to this incident,  there was a mesh between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. After five years of this feud, the feud slowly ended and the two artists went on with their lives.

 

However, in 2016, it was reported that the two artists were in dispute once again after West released a track entitled “Famous” off of his Life of Pablo album and how West stated he made Swift famous (he referred to Swift as a “b*tch).

Now in present day, 2020, while the world is undergoing a global pandemic and President Trump calling the coronavirus the “invisible enemy” after months of calling COVID-19 as a “Democratic hoax,” it was reported that a leaked phone conversation from 2016 between West and Swift was posted on Friday via Twitter, where supposedly West asks Swift to tweet his next single (“Famous”) and if she can hear the line in the song he mentioned her in.

 

 

 

In the recording, Swift was nervous at first, but when West rapped the lyrics to her, she laughed and said: “That’s not mean.”

Because of this, West argued that Swift did not have a problem with the song and that she was okay with the line in the song.

 

However, in an Instagram story post, Swift said

“Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years)…SWIPE UP to see what really matters,” implying that the COVID-19 pandemic is more important than a silly phone conversation as she would state in her following post.

In the defense of her husband, model Kim Kardashian West called Swift a “liar” and that “has chosen to reignite an old exchange—that at this point feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now.”
