Although the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has put a massive delay on the production and release of many Marvel films, production is starting to pick back up again in time for their new release dates. While films like Spiderman 3 have been able to begin production back in October of 2020, the highly anticipated Thor Love and Thunder have only just begun filming in Australia. Although production for the latest Thor film has barely begun, rumors around the production have already begun to swirl around Chris Pratt after a recent chat on Instagram with his Spidey co-star, Tom Holland. During the chat, Pratt revealed that he was set to fly to Australia to shoot for Thor Love and Thunder. The shocking revelation not only surprised fans, but Holland himself who then asked a follow-up question to clarify Pratt was in fact set to appear in the film. Pratt confirmed his appearance, and soon after it was revealed that his fellow Guardian co-stars were also likely to make an appearance after being spotted landing in Australia around the same time.
This revelation, while exciting, isn’t too shocking for those who remember the end of Avengers Endgame, when Thor elected to renounce his claim to the Asgardian throne and leave with the Guardians. This apparent partnership made for plenty of moments of humor in both Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame, providing the outline for plenty more hilarious and epic adventures. Although Thor Love and Thunder is set to follow the story of Jane Foster as she comes into her own set of powers as Lady Thor, Thor and the Guardians are sure to be present enough to give Jane assists as she comes into her own hero status.
While Thor Love and Thunder is set to come out in May of 2022, with Taika Waititi at the helm of this project and the addition of the Guardians, this film is certain to be well worth the wait.
