Blue Ivy Carter has greatly taken on the Carter’s last name, as she begins to make moves of her own. The firstborn of the legendary Jay-Z and Beyonce is set to narrate Hair Love, an Oscar winning book by Matthew A. Cherry.

Cherry took to Instagram to announce his audiobook with the names of the illustrator Vashti Harrison and the narrator, Blue Ivy Carter. The tweet also included an animated photo of the young father and his daughter with the over voice of Blue Ivy showcasing her skills.
The young Carter read, “Dreams Gate presents, Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry; Narrated by Blue Ivy Carter.”
The animated book is based on an African-American father, who is trying to help his daughter comb her hair. It showcases all the challenges the young girl and the father go through to get the job done. Both eventually succeed by helping and motivating each other to push through it.
Insecure’s Issa Rae also stars as the mother of the young girl, who left videos for her daughter on how to do her hair before becoming ill. The heartfelt six-minute video is a tear-jerker and a sweet animation, that is sure to stand out in the audiobook as well.
Blue Ivy is not new to the show business, as she has taken on roles in the Disney+ original Beyonce’s Black Is King Film. The young star also won a BET Award with her mother for the “Brown Skin Girl” anthem that highlighted positivity across the board for Black and Brown girls.
