Everyone loves and deserves a fun/relaxing getaway every now and then, but how far is one willing to go to make memories and have a blast? Some tourists go above and beyond with these 5 destinations, according to Travel or Die Trying:
- Devil’s Pool, Victoria Falls, South Africa

Devil’s Pool is a 108-meter South African waterfall, according to Travel or Die Trying. Although it’s not the safest thing to do, people love to take gorgeous pictures on the edge of it. Many travel sites/blogs say it is for the most part safe, but only as long as you don’t get too close to the edge or do anything silly of course. Come here with friends and make sure you’re at least an okay swimmer.
2. Trolltunga, Norway

This Norwegian cliff is wildly gorgeous, so it is no surprise why tourists may be tempted to walk the plank for a breathtaking picture. Be cautious when doing so obviously, and don’t get too close to the edge. According to the website Visit Bergen; “roughly 8,000 people a year” choose to hike here. It is a 7-10 hour ride there, and the ideal time to travel is around mid-June to mid-September, all according to the website.
3. Volcano Villarrica

Although they are incredibly dangerous, Volcanoes are exceedingly beautiful to look at. Their majestic appearance can tempt us to get closer to a picture even though it’s wiser to enjoy its beauty from afar. This active Chilean volcano is mesmerizing, and according to Volcano Top Trumps, it has an eruption on average at least once a year, and “it is a tourist destination for skiing, hiking, and whitewater rafting, as well as for volcano-watching.”
4. Yungas Death Road, Bolivia

Judging by the image one can see that although beautiful to look at this is one of the most dangerous roads in the world as it is literally at the edge of a mountain. According to Dangerous Roads, “More than 25 thousand tourists, mostly cyclists, have visited this place since the 90s.” It also claims 200-300 lives each year also according to the website. Make sure you’re an amazing driver or cyclist, and that it’s a clear/sunny day if you want to travel here.
5. Kjeragbolten, Norway

Kudos to Norway for having so many gorgeous sceneries; this site however is the definition of beautiful but deadly as one can see from the photo it is a spectacular view. It is also scary, however, because there is only one boulder stuck in between two mountains just waiting to slip off, I don’t know about you, but I’d really hate to be the last traveler on this boulder. The hike is “around 11 kilometers long and the round trip takes 6 to 10 hours”, according to the website Visit Norway.
All in all, we only have one life, so we must live it to the fullest, however, that doesn’t mean we should put our lives in danger just for the thrill of it though, so remember folks live it up, but also stay safe!
