Last Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, an 11-year-old boy was arrested for stealing a school bus. Footage shows the 11-year-old boy leading police on a high-speed chase.
The boy apparently managed to lead police on this chase for over a half an hour, all while standing up because his legs were too short to reach the school bus’ pedals. It was reported that the boy even managed to flip off some of the officers while leading them on this chase.
The boy struck three cars along the way, but it wasn’t until he hit a tree in someone’s front yard that he was stopped. No serious injuries were reported; however, a driver in one car that the boy struck reported minor injuries.
One video showed the damage that the crash created.
“Thank goodness he was okay and he was safe, but it was not your typical Sunday afternoon occurrence for sure. So, we’re blessed that it didn’t do any more damage than it did,” said Libby Smith, the homeowner of the home that the bus crashed into.
Although police declared that the boy stole the bus to simply go on a joy ride, the consequences still remain serious. The boy was charged with theft of a vehicle, aggravated flight, three counts of damage to property, and one count of aggravated assault.
Abbi Rocha reports on an 11 year-old boy taking a school bus on a joy-ride, which led to a police chase.
