During the presidential elections, Ice Cube had faced backlash for attempting to corporate with the Trump administration on Contract with Black America. And as Cube claimed, he was trying to work with who was in power to protect his people.
The rapper is sticking to his word and doing just that, as he will be meeting with President Biden to speak about the social justice reform.
This past Wednesday, the Compton rapper expressed on the Ryan Cameron: Uncensored radio show that Biden’s administration had reached out to him the day before, on Tuesday, and was interested in speaking. He mentioned that there had not been an official date to meet or how the meeting will look like, but they are taking steps to plan for it. The producer also explained that he’s ready to move forward when they are.
“I would love to bring some people in; I work with some great experts who know the root of the problem much better than me,” he said on the radio show. “I would love to bring in the specialists I have and the experts I have to see what we can do to start moving the ball down the field.”
After the backlash in Oct. 2020, Cube took to CNN news to clearly state that he was not endorsing either side. Instead, he wanted to come to an agreement with a president on supporting Blacks in America and making a safer country for them.
At the time, the Trump administration was open to hearing about the contract, as the Biden administration wanted to hold off until after the elections. Now that Biden has taken office, they are ready for discussion.
