When Kanye West had claimed that he would run in the Presidential elections, a few years back, everyone was all for it. That was until many people started feeling uneasy about his connections with Donald Trump and the MAGA campaign.
Now that West has finally begun the process toward the presidency, people are encouraging everyone to think twice about their vote. There are even some celebrities that don’t agree with West’s run for president, as many believe it’s unreal, but others, like rapper Chance The Rapper, think differently.
On July 13, Chance The Rapper took to Twitter to discuss with his followers if they were “pro-Biden or anti-Ye.” He expressed that he understood that most of the country was voting for the best option to “get Trump out” of the office. After conversing, Chance still didn’t agree with why people chose Biden over West.
Are u more pro biden or anti ye and why? I get that you’ll want to reply that you’re just tryna “get trump out” but in this hypothetical scenario where you’re replacing Trump, can someone explain why Joe Biden would be better??

I finally got the answer now. I understand. Yall trust Biden more than yall trust Ye. I think I understand why, I just don’t feel the same way.

The Chicago rapper later went on to continue the conversation, stating that he wasn’t expecting to trend on Twitter, but felt that he might as well take advantage to address the Chicago police to “admit to and denounce the assassination to Fred Hampton.” He continued his discussion stating he didn’t like that people believe Ye was acting to become President.
I didnt plan on trending today, but I would like take this opportunity to say: with all these apologies and accountabilities going around the city of Chicago and the Chicago Police Dept should finally admit to and denounce the assassination of Fred Hampton

I also always felt a way about people using the word “presidential”. Like a nigga acting or not acting presidential. Was Andrew Jackson acting presidential??

To end the Twitter conversation, Chance expressed that he felt strongly about pushing for “Black liberation,” but understood that West probably wouldn’t win this presidential election.
Ok sprinting down the hill now:
I understand the improbability of Ye winning the 46th Presidential seat and I understand that everyone voting for Biden isn’t necessarily doing so enthusiastically. I am for black liberation and do not accept my recent endorsement from Terry Crews— Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) July 13, 2020
Recently, West has taken to Twitter to ask South Carolina to sign a petition to put him on the ballot. He has even posted photos of what his campaign’s font could look like.

It has yet to be confirmed if he will be allowed to run for President, or what the outcome might be, but would you cast your vote for Ye?
