Marijuana hasn’t always been an open topic for some, as it held its own title of having a “bad reputation.” In the past, not many people agreed with the concept of smoking a plant to get high and actually looked down upon a stoner.
Now in 2021, it’s as if more and more people have drawn to it because of some of the positive effects it has on our bodies. And aside from the healthy pros, it’s really just a good time to enjoy yourself, relax and spread some laughs.
That’s what it is for Spic Eddie OG, a video creator and comedian, who found himself leaning toward marijuana when he decided to quick drinking alcohol and starting smoking weed. Little did he know that becoming so familiar with marijuana would lead him to develop some of the craziest techniques to smoke to and blow up on Instagram.
The New York resident, who describes himself as a vegan pothead engineer, has created smoking objects from water jugs, air mattress machines, rose petals, vegetables, snow, and so much more. He started on Snapchat telling jokes to his hometown and later transitioned to Instagram, where he hit Wordstar for his outward experiments and comedic skits.
True Urban Culture had the chance to speak with Spic about the creative process behind designing his creations, his passion for spreading laughs, his first experience getting high, some of his favorite strains, and more.

1. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself and your background? Where are you from and your age?
I’m 100 percent Spanish. I’m from Chile — both of my parents are from Chile. I’m 33 years old. I’m a Henny man. I’m a video comedian. I like to make funny videos and skits. I have a lot of people that are willing to join my collab in these videos. My goal is to be recognized in social media since everyone’s home and everyone’s watching through their phones. I’m pretty much a content creator. I just like to spread laughs and love, and spread veganism.
2. When did you start smoking? Can you describe your first experience?
I first started smoking at 21 years old. The main reason why I smoked was because one of my last best friends went down to weed, and I was straight edge at that moment. I barely drank alcohol. And you know, it grew from the ground, and I thought nothing of it — it’s just a plant. It had benefits and [thought] that would be the right way to go since I was tired of getting hangovers from alcohol, and I didn’t like the fact that alcohol brought me [that].
So when I first smoked Marijuana, I was with my sister and best friend, and they’re there with me, and I smoked some Sour Diesel and some very hybrid Kush for the first time. I was drinking heavy at the time, and I thought Marijuana was nothing and thought I could beat it, and that I had a strong mind. Then I ended up being in the car with my sister and best friend, and I got a little paranoid. I actually started saying, ‘Oh man, are we in a spaceship right now?’ I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then I was like, ‘Wow, this is how it feels to be high right now.’ When we got off the car, my sister locked the car, and she left the keys inside, so it kind-of made a dilemma. I’m like, ‘Oh my god, how are we going to get home now?’
It felt like cuts and pieces like I was one place, and the next thing you know, I was in another place in a couple of hours like, ‘How did I get here?’ I would tell them, ‘Yo, guys, we just teleported.’ That’s the first time they brought me to a gas station to get the keys out. We went to the gas station to get some chips and a drink, and when I ate the chips, my whole taste buds just went ‘Whoa!’ The first thing I drank when I was high was an Arizona Peach Tea. When I drank it, it was just like — I can remember like it was yesterday, it was just so vivid — I can imagine a waterfall just going down my throat. The time went by [quickly]. Then I came to a point where I got paranoid. I’m like, ‘Holy shit, when am I going to get out of this high?’ ‘Am I always going to be high like this?’ Then I hugged my sister, and I fell to my knees, and I looked up at her, and I’m like, ‘When is this going to end?’ And she’s like, all you have to do is sleep, and it’ll go away. Then what do you know, I fell asleep and woke up fine. I got scared at first, and I’m like, ‘I’m never doing that shit again.’ Then a week later, I did it again, and I just became a pothead.
3. How many times a day do you find yourself smoking?
I used to be a very heavy smoker, where I was smoking three times a day, and I actually cut down cause I started getting serious with my work. And I just smoke maybe once at night or twice, or if I have to go live on my Instagram or something. I would smoke just to make a show. Even if I have to make a video, I would smoke. So maybe once or twice a day.
4. What sparked your interest in creating these different techniques of smoking?
My character. I like to be funny. I guess I’m a pothead engineer when it comes down to these things. I thought if I made all these creations, it would cause attraction towards me and what I really wanted to bring out was my comedy. The joy of making people laugh and bringing smiles to people’s faces because that’s what really matters to me. I’ve been providing comedy for almost 11 years now.
I started on Snapchat because I had insecurity problems, I still have insecurity problems, but I was so insecure, like ‘Am I really this funny?’ I doubted myself a lot. Then, when I went to Snapchat and had my whole town add me, they were just watching me do this production, and it was just a blast off from there like, ‘Wow, you’re hilarious,’ ‘Yo, you got potential.’ That kind-of made me brave enough to go public on Instagram.
Then I started on Instagram, and I hit WorldStar, [which] gave me the big push that I needed like, ‘Oh shit, I could really do this.’ After I got that push, I was just like, ‘My post was really bad.’ If I could go back, I could see myself evolving, like it’s amazing to have all that footage to see myself working [and] climbing to the top. I’m not that big yet, but I have a lot of fans and a lot of people that believe in me. So that’s my biggest push right now. Just making these big creations and going hard and keep going hard. I don’t know, I feel like this is me, and this is what I’m meant to do — create, collab with people, and maybe do skits. I have a lot of different talents that I haven’t shown people yet, and I’m just slowly getting there.
5. How long does it take you to design these different pieces?
If I put my mind to it, probably like an hour or less. I can put a whole bunch of things together. I’ve been challenged by so many fans. They’re like, ‘Oh, I know you could definitely make this better.’ And I come out with it, and then boom. Also, my uncle wants me to create a scuba gear, smoking gear, where I have a backpack of two cylinders — well see-thru, or whatever — and I can smoke out of the backpack.
6. I saw for Valentine’s Day that you created a blunt out of rose petals. How did you come up with that idea?
There was a video that went viral of this girl that was making these rose petal blunts, and I was like, ‘What the heck, is that even healthy?’ So I did my research, and it said it was alright, so I was like, alright let me try it out. I mean, I did trial and error, of course, and it didn’t come out right the first few times, but after that, I just got the hang of it, and I became a pro. So I can just roll rose pedal blunts out of anything now. It’s great, it’s smooth. It hits different. It’s not like tobacco, where it hits hard. It’s actually smooth. And when you breathe it out, it just the aroma in the air — it just smells good. Then I did the rainbow rose blunts. I thought that was sick.
7. You’ve also designed a weed hookah with a water jug and a machine. How did you come up with this idea?
That idea came so quick to mind because I was just like, ‘Oh my god, I need to just throw something out there.’ I ordered two hookah pipes, and I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I was thinking about something hookah. I had the bottle already, but it got converted into like the hookah bong, where I added a hose to the air mattress, and then I had this c-pipe that I made holes for the bud. I pretty much was like, my friend’s here, my Uncle Bobby’s here, I might as well just post this up, and that’s when it just came out of the blue with that hookah thing.
8. How was the high for that when you first tried it?
It was pretty good. It was pretty good. I mean, like I used pretty good bud, so it was like wow. There’s so much smoke you can take before you start coughing so much. It was a really good high. I think I out a second post up next to it, and you see my eyes bright up. I’m like, ‘Holy shit.’
9. What would you say is your favorite technique that you created to smoke?
My favorite technique was pretty much the helmet. You know, that video went so viral. I feel like it’s still trending, and it hit 15.9 million views on a page, and then from that page, it just started spreading everywhere. But I didn’t get [any] credit for it, that’s the thing, like that guy on the skateboard with the cranberry juice — he went viral off of that one video, and he got mad money. [The] same thing happened to me, but I ain’t get shit! They didn’t say, ‘Oh, this guy did it.’ They just said, ‘Oh, random person in the world did this shit, and look how viral this video is going.’ Like even Ludacris posted me on his wall.
10. What was your reaction when you found that out?
I had a lot of fans hyped. I was mad too, but at the same time, it made me happy, like wow I have [the] potential of making millions of people laugh. I feel like that’s an accomplishment not a lot of people can say throughout their lives. I made towns laugh. I made other states laugh, but to make millions of people laugh, is just like wow!
If I had those millions of views on my YouTube, I would say I’d get like — what YouTube pays $5 per a thousand views — imagine how much money I could have made out of all those views. I’d be chillin’ right now! But that just gives me the motivation to keep going because if one video went out there, then another one can.
11. I read in your bio that your Instagram page was taken down at 7K. What were IG’s reasons behind that?
I promoted the rose pedal blunts on Instagram promotions, and they counted that as I was trying to sell the rose petal blunts, and that was paraphernalia. So they got me on that one. Then I set that page on private, so I knew for months already that that page was going to go down, but I didn’t want to believe it. I tried transferring my followers to there, but it was just way too late. I couldn’t even save all the data that I put on that page. I sent the thing to Instagram, and I’m like, ‘Yo, I want all my data.’ And I got the link, but it was already too late. They had already shut my page down. It took me a couple of months to get back up there.
12. What are some things that you enjoy doing while being high?
I enjoy video games while being high. I enjoy eating while being high. I enjoy smoking before going to bed. I enjoy a lot of things while being high, honestly. I just enjoy getting high in general. I feel like sparking one up and getting high right now. I like watching movies high too that’s fun, it makes it more interesting in a way I believe. [Also,] going out to eat high.
13. You know cannabis very well. What is your favorite strain? Why do you choose that?
My favorite strain is White Widow. It’s just a beautiful flower. I mean it has so many crystals. Pretty much how frosty it is and how strong it is, like you take one — yeah one pull, usually it takes two pulls, but one pull — and you actually feel it throughout your body. It gives you like a tingling sensation where it’s like, ‘Whoa, this shit is strong!’ And yeah, I just love it. I mean it’s hard to come across. I mean, some people say, ‘Oh yeah, I got White Widow.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, no, this is not it.’
I actually had two ounces of it one time, and I just kept that for a very long time because I knew I wouldn’t come across it for a while. It usually takes me about five years to come across it. If Colorado has it, I might just chill out there just to go find that. I have asked dispensaries when I went out there and a lot of people don’t have it. But yeah, you put that nug into a grinder or anything, you have kief. It’s beautiful.
That’s my favorite strain, then comes Sour Diesel and Girl Scout Cookies. Then Jack Herer. I love all that stuff.
14. I came across a comment where someone mentioned the way you packed your weed, and I’m curious to know how much weed do you use in a week or even a day?
During the week, holy smokies! I could probably smoke about half a week. That’s not bad. If I’m celebrating, then it’s more. When I do my post, I’m probably using about a half-ounce, or if I’m making multiple posts — about an ounce.
I cut down on smoking a lot. I have just been smoking maybe a few blunts at night that’s it. If I wake and bake, my day gets so much harder. It gets complicated, or I get demotivated to do stuff. So if I plan ahead, then I know what to do beforehand, then I could probably get high and do everything. But if I don’t have a plan, I’m just like all over the place.
15. Who are some musicians and/or famous people that you would want to collaborate with?
Snoop Doggy Dogg. I would love to freakin’ have a blunt raised or see if I could out beat the Dogg. That’d be lit. I would smoke with Ludacris too. I’d be like, ‘Yo, how come you never tagged me bro?’ I had about 50 people tagging him. Wiz Khalifa I would love to smoke with.
Actually, the whole rapping thing, I always felt like I could possibly make a song or like a little rap. It would all be like facts. [It would be] something like me climbing and how I’m struggling to the top, how I’m going about it and how I feel. I feel like that’s what people would maybe love to hear, like motivational music.
16. If you could give advice to anyone trying these creative ways of getting high, what would it be?
I would probably tell them to get organic roses, don’t get roses from the supermarket because you don’t know what toxins they have, or what chemicals they have. At least from a florist, they’re not painted or anything, and they’re real. The organic ones will be the best way to go. You want to go the healthy way.
The bottles I make too. I kind-of use copper and maybe steel as the bowl piece just because I don’t want to be smoking too much aluminum. There are some videos where I use aluminum, but I also make a screen underneath. So I’d probably advise people like what metals they can use to be smoking Marijuana and burning the metal. God forbid they smoke some bad shit! Tinfoil has always been everyone’s go-to, but I don’t really like try to back it up, or tell people to use it.
17. How have people around you reacted to you blowing up over smoking blunts and creating bongs online?
It’s pretty much wherever I walk in town someone will recognize me and scream my name. Whoever I go up to or see during the day they’re like, ‘Yo, congratulations man, your page is blowing up!’ ‘I remember when you were younger, you always talked about it, and now look at you, you’re actually doing it.’ A lot of people are like, ‘I’m proud of you bro, not a lot of people follow their dreams and chase after it like the way you do.’ And it’s good because you’re doing something that you like.
When I have my uncle with me, and we’re driving around, and some people see us, they like, ‘Oh Uncle Bobby! You’re hilarious on Eddie’s Instagram.’ It’s just amazing. It feels like I’m in-town famous, and everyone’s just showing me love. That’s pretty much all I have in my mail. That’s goals right there.
18. You mentioned how you have your uncle in these videos. What was your family’s reaction to all of this? Do they see the videos?
My family doesn’t know. Only my sister and my cousins, and they think it’s hilarious. My cousin, when she first found out that I was going viral and my page was at 7k, she was like, ‘That’s my cousin!’ And all her friends were like, ‘Yo, how come you never told us you had a cousin. He’s amazing.’ Then she brought me to a party, and I brought bud. I’m like, ‘Yo, let’s party!’ Everyone loved me there. Everyone just surrounded me. They’re like this guy is hilarious. And I’m coming up with comedy and jokes at the top of my head.
19. What are some goals that you have set for your Instagram page?
I eventually want to get enough followers because I know once I reach 10k, they enable a link. Then after, I get the links, I can probably make links to send people to different places and set up an online shop, where I can sell t-shirts and other stuff like that. I’m pretty positive that a lot of my fans are waiting for me to start creating merchandise that they can buy off of me. I’m pretty sure that will help support me and help me grow. I guess give me more money, where I can create more ideas. The more money I have, the more ideas get. If it comes to that and I end up making a lot of money from it, my ideas are just going to get crazier.
