On a “normal” year of the NBA All-Star weekend, several artists perform live for fans in a concert setting. With COVID still in effect, the National Basketball Association has put a halt to that.
However, this weekend is the NBA All-Star weekend in Atlanta, and even though there are restrictions, many are still planning on attending the parties. Some night events will be held at venues like The Dome, Compound, Paparazzi ATL, KOD, Suite Lounge, and more.
The event performances kicked off on Friday with Tory Lanez, 42 Dugg, Future and Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Pooh Shiesty, Migos, Ari The Don, Fabolous, Coi Leray, Trey Songz, Young Thug, Rick Ross, Mulatto, Blac Youngsta and many more.
Most performers will have a second night of performing on Saturday night. Some artists expected to show out are Bobby Shmurda, Meek Mill, Lil Baby Moneybagg Yo, Lil Durk, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Pooh Shiesty, Tory Lanez, Trey Songz, DMX, Rick Ross, City Girls, Trina, Trick Daddy and many more.
The NBA has separated itself from these events, as they have attempted to stop any gatherings or performances.
“The NBA has sent out nearly 100 letters to event promoters in effort to crack down on large gatherings, sending out cease and desist letters to promoters using the league name and logo to promote parties,” according to ATL’s 11 Alive.
Atlanta holds their COVID-19 guidelines and how they’re handling procedures. There is a limited capacity of 50 or 35 percent people in bars and nightclubs. They are also required to hold social distancing for customers and employees. Along with those regulations, patrons have to be seated and can’t gather or stand around if they’re not waiting to be seated. ATL patrons and all employees are expected to wear masks in bars or nightclubs, but some businesses can opt-out of mandating mask-wearing.
