XXXTentacion makes the news again. Thankfully, this newest headline does not involve domestic abuse allegation or any other violent altercations within the past few months. Unfortunately, X fans won’t be too happy to hear the rapper has made an announcement stating he will not be releasing any new music.
Although this is not the first time X delivers a cryptic message to his fans through his social media platforms, his deal with Capitol Records has been terminated. As we reported last week, the Florida rapper, XXXTentacion signed a $6 million deal with Capitol Records. His debut album, “17” reached a huge milestone in breaking records in sales within the first week of its release. “17” also managed to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 200.
So, the question poses as, “Why stop there?”. With X’s amount of momentum, despite all his criminal charges and disputes at the moment, he’s receiving attention from everywhere. Some may claim all publicity is good publicity, XXXTentaction begs to differ. X explains to fans he’s tired of all the hate and negative attention he receives on the daily. He continues by posting screenshots of DMS and comments he’s received to emphasize the negativity. With this being said, he says he will not be releasing new music and that he is no longer a signed artist.
In all honesty, this is taking a step backward in his career. But, in essence, X will continue to gain attention for his paradoxical personality. Let’s give it time and see if XXXtentaction returns to the music scene again soon.
