After a huge success with “THE SCOTTS” reaching number one on the Billboard Top 100 chart in April and being deemed as the largest Spotify streaming debut of 2020, Travis Scott and Kid Cudi announced that they are planning to release a joint album. If you haven’t already listened to “THE SCOTTS,” you can listen here.
Scott revealed this information in an interview with Los Angeles-based journalist Gerrick D. Kennedy for GQ. Scott is featured as the cover star for GQ’s September issue. Here is a behind-the-scenes video for GQ’s September issue with Travis Scott:
Scott also mentioned that he and Cudi have already recorded several records together for the album.
Kennedy explains one of Scott and Cudi’s new songs as the craziest thing he’s played for him so far, with Cudi singing “I know where I’m going / I know when it’s time” over a smooth beat. Kennedy explains the intro beat as a “bouncy summer groove” before the beat turns intense—sounding like a “menacing riot.”
While Scott is reluctant to release too much information regarding their upcoming album, Scott did affirm to Kennedy in the interview that there is “some fireness” in store for the album.
