Rihanna’s long awaited return to music may be happening sooner than we expected.
It has been five years since the artist released her last album ANTI, which just made history for charting on the Billboard 200 for five consecutive years. She is the first black female artist to accomplish this in the chart’s history.
In celebration, she posted a video on Twitter and Instagram. She penned a thank you and congratulatory messages to those involved in the record.
grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle 🙏🏿 #Anti #WomensHistoryMonth 💪🏿
congrats to everyone that contributed to this era, thank you team. pic.twitter.com/7KeLSEMiYt— Rihanna (@rihanna) March 24, 2021
On Instagram a fan commented suggesting the artist commemorate her accomplishment by releasing a song.
RiRi agreed but added, “Just 1 tho [sic] lol.”

With fans in a frenzy over the possibility of new Rihanna music, Hollywood Unlocked asked who the singer should feature on her new song and offered some suggestions
Rihanna caught wind of the post and commented, “Careshaaaaaaaa [sic],” a.k.a., Yung Miami.
The City Girl then tagged the artist in a Tweet and she seemed on board with the potential collab.

While Rihanna has been on hiatus from music, she has stepped into the shoes of a businesswoman and is putting in some “work, work, work, work, work, work” into her company’s Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.
The last we heard the Caribbean sweetheart’s vocals was on her collaboration “Believe It,” with PartyNextDoor. The track was released in March 2020 but her music career has remained stagnant.
However, back in December 2019 she teased fans with an IG post and may have confirmed that her 9th studio album is completed, she has just chosen not to release it.
Rihanna causes more emotional distress for fans as she trolls with an update on her album.
“update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it” pic.twitter.com/3pyEPnrN15

There is no telling why RiRi would do such a thing, but fans at least have renewed hope that she may be returning to the music scene, even if it is only for one song.
