Fans have been anticipating hearing updates on an Isaiah Rashad project. And recently, the Top Dawg Ent. member had some news for them on his upcoming album.
The Chattanooga native took to Twitter to express that this new album was recorded sober, making it his first-ever. In a since-deleted tweet, the rapper explained that he had quit drinking in 2019 and does not “smoke cigs” either.
“everything on the track list so far was made completely sober,” he tweeted. “which is a first. I quit drinking and recording around 2019. slick quit drinking then too. but ya kno. da wagon.”

He recently dropped a single, “Why Worry” for Fan Appreciation Week. However, the last time TDE fans received an album from Isaiah Rashad was in 2016 when he released The Sun’s Tirade that featured hits from Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, SZA, SiR, Zacari, and more. The rapper also expressed in a Billboard interview that he was struggling with a drug and alcohol issue. There was also a possibility that Top Dawg was going to drop him from the label if he didn’t get it together and release something.
“My mom seen me faded,” Isaiah told Billboard. “Then, [I struggled with] a lapsing memory. I don’t be remembering a lot of shit between them two years. It’s like gaps in time. So I was like, ‘I don’t really want that no more.’ That was the worst, not remembering shit. There’s a lot of shit I don’t remember.”
