A few years after the theatrical debut, Kong is returning to theaters this Spring with the highly anticipated release of Godzilla vs. Kong. After 2020’s Coronavirus outbreak delayed the release of the film, fans will soon be able to experience the cinematic masterpiece of these two beasts of nature clashing on the big screen. However, for fans of Kong, this movie may not be the last viewers see of the abnormally sized gorilla. Recently Netflix announced that it plans to develop and release a Kong Skull Island series focused on the unlucky souls who find themselves shipwrecked on his shores. Continuing the story of Kong, this Netflix series will be an animated series, building on Netflix’s growing collection of adult animated content. Alongside Kong, the streaming service is also set to develop an animated Tomb Raider Series.
While Netflix has yet to release too many details about the series, it has revealed that that the company behind Castlevania and Blood of Zeus, Powerhouse Animation, will aid the animation process and the company Tractor Pants will write and produce the show. Although details about the plot remain unknown, Netflix is sure to deliver a compelling series based on the monster verse we already know and love so well. Until the series is available for release, fans can enjoy Godzilla vs. Kong both online and in theaters this March. In this deadly face-off, Kong and Godzilla will battle each other for monster dominance while humanity searches for a way to rid the earth of both creatures for once and for all. This movie will be the third installment in the Godzilla and Kong saga, we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled come March to see how this epic battle will end.
