On Feb. 11 Dreamville’s artist, Bas took to social media to announce one of his first collaborations with BAPE, the official fashion brand, to create shoes.
From the sneak peek photo shared by Bas, the shoe featured a beige based color and white platform. On the back is the black and white Dreamville logo placed at the top just above the BAPE STA logo.
Omen, Dreamville’s artist, also took to his Instagram story to share the full shoe, which reviled a blue and yellow star along the side. The front, including the laces and tongue of Bas’ shoes, are in all black, while the inside of it is blue. The Dreamville logo can also be found on the inside of the shoe.
Raeana Anaïs, fashion stylist and designer, who styles Dreamville for music videos, magazine covers, and performances, helped design the shoe with Bas.
Recently, Bas was a keynote speaker for Yale University at the Black Solidarity Conference, where he also performed the night before. His latest single “Amnesia” features follow Dreamville member Ari Lennox and Kiddominant. The song is up-tempo among Afro-Beats, which Bas has recently experimented within his 2018 album Milky Way.
The BAPE collaboration has yet to have an official release date, but Bas is getting fans hyped up about it with the videos from other artists who already received a pair.
