Selena Gomez, who has been the face of Louis Vuitton and Coach is in full throttle as she continuously expands her fashion and acting portfolio ( she’s filming a Woody Allen flick too).
On Monday, the singer announced that she’s officially involved in a long-term partnership with Puma as she will first appear in the campaign drop for the Phenom, an upcoming women’s footwear. She also released a shot of herself in the gear on her Instagram account.
Puma has voiced the fact of how much the collaboration between Gomez and themselves is important in that her influence over young women and her hustle are what helps you succeed in life. Not only will she be active with the consumers, but she and the brand will work with and for matters of the heart.
Per Puma’s press release:
“Selena is authentic, creative, talented, and fearlessly real. She is everything that today’s female consumer is looking for in a role model,” said Adam Petrick, Global Director for Brand and Marketing for PUMA. “In recent days, she has demonstrated just how strong she truly is. With her honesty and openness about living with Lupus, she has provided an incredible example of confidence, poise, and determination for all of us. Selena is a perfect partner for PUMA because she is not afraid of the challenges our world can offer; she fights and perseveres, which is exactly what PUMA is all about. She will not only represent our brand, but she will help to define and enhance our women’s business.”
Gomez even took to talking with Vogue on her laid-back yet fashionable sense of style as it comes to chic comfort:
“I think it’s become this collaborative thing where streetwear and fashion blend into one… I see girls now feeling sexy in not even necessarily workout clothes, but clothes you could go workout in, then put on a cute pair of shoes and go out after,” she said. “I want to make sure anything I put on, I feel good in because how you’re feeling on the outside really does affect how you are on the inside.”
Another way she keeps cozy is with her boyfriend The Weeknd, a fellow spokesman for Puma ( Abel Tesfaye), in their Greenwich Village apartment. According to previous reports with ET, they’re lining together as Gomez films in the city.
“I mean, at this point, my boyfriend and I share closets, and [we’re] just kind of throwing different ideas around… sometimes I’ll throw on his Puma stuff and just go out with my shoes,” she said.
In the past years, Puma’s brand women’s campaigns have been rejuvenated in the collaborations they’ve had from Rihanna, and now to Selena Gomez. As a result, the brand will continue to flourish as the examples of women placed forward emit confidence and poise.
