Former Project Runway dynamic duo, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, teamed up with Amazon to launch a new competition show called Making the Cut.
The show is similar to Project Runway. They will host 12 contestants and they will compete through their designs, assignments, and ability to run a business for $1 million to invest in their brand and a chance to work with Amazon on an exclusive line. These contestants vary from established designers to new up-and-comers getting their foot in the door. But the interesting part is the winning design of every episode will be available on Amazon for purchase.
Model and consulting producer Naomi Campbell, actress and fashion icon Nicole Richie, designer Joseph Altuzarra, influencer, Chiara Ferragni, and CR Fashion Book editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld will be judges on the show handpicked by Heidi and Tim.
Cast and crew traveled to major fashion capitals like Tokyo, Paris, and New York while filming and have lots of content to show in their first season. Tim told the Television Critics Association that Making the Cut “is about finding the next global brand.”
The two premiere episodes of Making the Cut airs March 27th on Amazon Prime Video.
