Sneak Peek Luxury initially began in North Miami, Florida. The team opened up their first store in North Miami Beach back in 2015 and has been flourishing ever since. Michael Vinokur, as known as, Sneak Peek Mike, speaks on how much hard work and dedication it took for everyone to build the brand from scratch and create such a notable reputation in the field of resell and high-end fashion. Previously to owning their first store, they individually carried on their knowledge, talents and passion through the brand, which creates the feeling of authenticity when you walk into a Sneak Peek Luxury store.

Check out our latest interview with Sneak Peek Mike, CEO of Sneak Peek Luxury:
Paulette: For starters, how did you launch your business/brand and your start in the fashion and sneaker industry?
Mike: At the time, I was working at an interactive technology company and my best friend reached out to me and asked if I was interested in running a sneaker store with him and our close friend Brandon. At the time, Brandon had been selling sneakers for 5+ years and we were all childhood friends. The rest is history after that.
Paulette: What was your initial inspiration behind your brand? Did you have any mentors coming into this?
Mike: I did not have any mentors behind this brand but I did have a lot of interest in sports and that is a huge inspiration for my love for the fashion industry. Thankfully, along the road I was introduced to a couple mentors and am very thankful for the people I have met.
Paulette: What were some obstacles you may ran into and how did you overcome those obstacles at the time?
Mike: There was plenty of obstacles that happened in the beginning- some of the hardest things were: small following, little capitol, lack of trust. Fortunately we were able to overcome every single obstacle and still deal with obstacles everyday. The only way to be able to overcome obstacles is to focus on the problem and solution and most importantly execute.
Paulette: What has been the craziest experience you’ve come across so far in your career?
Mike: Craziest experience Ive dealt with is getting scammed by someone that is in the industry and have had a relationship with me for a long time. People really change on you when it comes to money. I learned my lesson and the moral of the story is be very careful who you trust.
Paulette: How has social media helped along the way with the start of your career? You’ve grown to have a good following including huge accounts following such as Social Media Influencers and media outlet, Complex?
Mike: Social media is our biggest ally, it has helped us tremendously and I am very thankful for it. Due to our relationships with athletes, big media outlets such as complex and nice kicks it really helped give us the exposure to consumers.
Paulette: Will you make an appearance at Complex Con this year or another convention showcasing your work?
Mike: Yes we are planning on going to complexcon. Also, we travel to a ton of sneaker shows locally and nationally.
Paulette: Are you planning on expanding out into the West coast or bringing your business into other major cities such as New York or Atlanta?
Mike: Yes I am working on expanding right now but it is still a secret. We will announce it soon
Paulette: What are your plans and dreams with your brand?
Mike: My plans and dreams with the brand is to create super exclusive affordable clothing so everyone wants to wear it and the parents don’t have heart attacks when they see prices on some clothing pieces. Not only that but expand internationally- we have so much love from all of our international clients and we would not be where we are without them.
Paulette: What is some advice you would give anyone who is following and aspiring to do what you do today?
Mike: Stay true to yourself, treat everyone the same whether it’s a bus boy or a famous artist. Do not bend your back more than you need to or else nobody will respect you. Definitely hook people up with product and make sure to establish a following on social media. Do not associate just anything and anyone with your brand be very selective and make sure they fit your image.
Paulette: What was your occupation before this?
Mike: I ran business development for an interactive technology company by the name of Nearpod.
Paulette: What’s your favorite brand or clothing line at the moment?
Mike: Gucci.
Paulette: What’s your favorite pair of sneakers you own?
Mike: Off White Presto
Paulette: What’s your most expensive pair of sneakers?
Mike: Yeezy 2 solars- $5000
Paulette: Are you looking into collaborating with anyone anytime soon?
Mike: Yes we have some collaborations in the works. I would love to do something with Bape. It is the best selling product in our store and I absolutely love their brand.
Paulette: What’s your biggest networking or marketing tip you could give anyone reading this interview today?
Mike: Consistently reach out every day to people, be valuable see how you can help them. Everyone in the world needs help, use your brain and think how can you add value to this person’s life. Remember you don’t always reap the reward immediately sometimes it comes years later. In the entrepreneur lifestyle it is a long game focus on the long run.
Paulette: Do you feel like Florida has shaped or influenced you in any way as far as your direction with the brand goes?
Mike: Well I am born and raised in Miami so we have definitely been influenced by that culture. We also are very cultured and all of my business partners are from different parts of the world so it’s a good mix of evetything.
Paulette: Where did the name “SneakPeek” Mike come in?
Mike: Well when we were thinking of names we wanted our name to represent exclusivity. We have a ton of shoes that come out before they actually release and also have shoes that nobody else has seen before so I think the name represents us well. We added the luxury because we sell watches and jewelry so we have a luxury aspect to the brand.
Paulette: Will there be any major releasing or projects we may need to be on the lookout for?
Mike: I have a lot of stuff coming out for the sneak peek brand this year so definitely keep your eyes peeled. Stay tuned to our social media accounts we will be making all major announcements on there.
Make sure to check back with us to follow Sneak Peek Luxury’s latest projects and what they have in store for us in the near future.
