Fashion icon Beyoncé recently collaborated with Adidas and blessed us by dropping her second Adidas x Ivy Park collection.
The collection was released last week online and in select stores. Contrary to her first drop, Beyoncé made the collection more size-inclusive. During her first Adidas x Ivy Park collection drop back in January, fans in the plus-sized community were upset about the limited size range available – especially from an inclusive celebrity such as Beyoncé. Now in her latest collection, the sizes available range from XXXS to 4XL.
The collection did receive some backlash online as only certain fits from the second drop, titled “Drip 2,” are including plus-size options, up to a 4XL. This decision promoted social media to bring up the issue of the lack of plus-sized inclusivity in the fashion industry. Regardless, Beyoncé’s featured size range is one step forward to a more progressive future.
With her collection, Beyoncé encouraged fans to show everyone “their park — the place, real or imagined, that defines and centers them,” as well as to explore, “where is your beast mode, what drives you, where do your dreams lie, what is your motivation?”
Her Adidas x Ivy Park collection includes a beautiful color palette of bold colors, ranging from coral to emerald green. The collection has many pieces that are versatile for casual everyday comfort and athleisure – including bodysuits, biker shorts, belts, fanny packs, six new shoe styles, and more.
