American singer and ‘Red Table Talk’ host Willow Smith reportedly stated that she has a stalker. In new legal documentation, Smith stated that she has been stalked by 38-year-old Walter James Whaley. Smith filed a restraining order on him after he climbed a fence to get onto her property around Christmas.
Before the altercation on her property which Smith claimed that her security notified police immediately after the incident, Whaley had been contacting her on social media. He allegedly sent her messages professing his love and expressing his desire to start a family with her. In photos released by Smith, it shows Whaley on her property as if he was trying to make his way inside her home.
Although the police were called to Smith’s property, by the time they arrived, Whaley was not there to be taken into custody. She stated that officers did discover a Greyhound ticket that was owned by Whaley. Which indicated that he had traveled all the way from Oklahoma the day prior to the altercation on Smith’s property.
Smith did hire a private investigator to find information on Whaley. Which the private investigator found out that Whaley has a prior record, of being a convicted sex offender.
With the temporary restraining order being granted earlier this month, Whaley must stay 100 yards away from Smith at all times and stop any forms of communication with her. Local authorities also confirmed earlier this month that Whaley had been arrested on March 3.
Thanks to the public, tips received led to the arrest of Walter James Whaley III this morning. #WantedWednesday #Arrested@thelocalmalibu @malibudailynews @acornnewspaper @TheMalibuTimes @991KBU pic.twitter.com/cNFhyjuaSz
