In a time of giving, Will Smith has decided to shed light on heroes and uplift others with his Will From Home Holiday Special series on Snapchat. To kick it off, he and Jason Derulo brought smiles to a 14-year-old cancer patient battling Leukemia in Fort Worth, Texas.
The father, Chuck Yielding, reached out to Will about his son Aiden’s fight with Leukemia. Yielding was searching for several different ways to help cheer up his son. In the video, Yielding expressed that with COVID restrictions, Aiden spent time in the hospital alone during chemotherapy. He would visit Aiden outside the hospital every Tuesday to cheer him up with a silly dance.
The infamous Fresh Prince also brought in Jason Derulo to show Mr. Yielding some dance moves. They all practiced the moves and joked about them. Aiden even hit the woo and had everyone hyping him up.
To end the small episode, Will teamed up with GameStop for GameStop Gives to gift Aiden a PlayStation 5, a Sony Wireless controller, and a gift card. Game Stop even donated $5k to Cook Children’s Medical Center, and Will matched their donation with $10k.
“Joy and laughter is such critical medicine,” Will expressed. “That commitment to just a little smile, just a little laugh – it goes so much farther than we could even imagine. So, shoutout to Chuck; great work, man. Keep it right there.”
