The first Barbie was created all the way back in 1959, and since then it has evolved over time. Now in 2017, Barbie has evolved, even more, Barbie went from having just caucasian dolls too, having African American Dolls, Boy Dolls, and etc. But now they are releasing a Vitiligo Barbie.
The Barbie is supposed to be created after Model Winnie Harlow who is a spokesperson for Vitiligo. Now, this isn’t the first time that they have created a doll after a model, just last year they created a doll after Supermodel Ashley Graham who is a beautiful curvy model.
Pictures have been floating around social media of the doll. The doll was created by an Instagrammer named kestrelohara. Now, this isn’t an official MATTEL Barbie, but Barbie fans are begging the company to team up with Winnie Harlow to make a Barbie that represents so many girls that have vitiligo.
If MATTEL was to actually produce a vitiligo Barbie it would give a lot of girls more confidence to be comfortable in their skin. Hopefully, with time the company will produce a Vitiligo Barbie, and we will make sure to keep you all updated if they do.
But we have to know if MATTEL made the Barbie would you be purchasing one for yourself or young family relative ? Let us know in the comments below.
