Aaliyah’s legacy has always lived on through her timeless music and hardcore fans that continue to highlight the late R&B singer. Now, we can enjoy those pieces of her life and more in her new biography book written by music journalist Kathy Iandoli.
The biography titled Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah is expected to tell the story of the late R&B artist’s music career, musical connections with Missy Elliott and Timbaland, and her life journey. It will also touch base on R. Kelly and her passing. Readers will also get exclusive insight into some never been told stories and interviews of Aaliyah.
“I wrote this book as an Aaliyah fan,” Iandoli expressed in a statement. “This is for all of us who for the last twenty years can spot her influence everywhere, while wishing she was still here. I left no stone unturned, and I hope I’ve added to her legacy properly.”
Kathy Iandoli is not new to writing music based books as she’s written God Save The Queens: The Essential History of Women in Hip Hop, which focused on highlighting the importance of female rappers and what they bring to the culture. The book was named one of the best of 2019 by NPR.
Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah will be released August 17, 2021 on the 20th anniversary of her passing. It is currently available for preorder now on Amazon.
