“All men do is lie and play videogames.” Or at least that’s what a large majority of Twitter’s female population would lead you to believe. In order to break the stereotype that men are “no good dogs who only want one thing” a few guys were asked what their ideal dates would be. Surprisingly enough, “Netflix and Chill” did not get much mention.
The results showed that most men just want to enjoy a few laughs with their person of interest while doing something they enjoy and of course, eating good food.
One of the guys said that he really liked the idea of “just getting food and going to the aquarium.” Another said he preferred to go on dates when the sun was still up so that he could enjoy any potential scenery and there wasn’t any unwanted pressure for sleepovers. A few more men were asked about their idea of a perfect date and the general consensus was that most men just want to share their favorite hangout spots with their dates while trying to introduce them to new experiences and take them to restaurants they’ve probably never been to before.
When asked about the significance of taking the date to get food they’ve never had before I got this response, “It’s a way to introduce them to something new and a way to stand out from previous guys. If she’s never been there before she’s more likely to think of you the next time she goes.”
These guys may have been blowing smoke but they sure make it sound like chivalry isn’t dead yet. It’s not all about the one-night –stands, some guys really are interested in getting intimate on a more intellectual level and finding someone to enjoy life with.
