Chuck E. Cheese is a fun kids’ party place that many remember for the endless arcade games, the smell of delicious plain cheese pizza, and those fun singing animatronics we came to love. The fun party place we knew growing up is not how we remember it today. There have been multiple conspiracy theories swirling around about Chuck E. Cheese that makes you question was this place ever genuine kids’ fun.
One conspiracy was when YouTuber, Shane Dawson, talked about how their famous cheese pizza is for some odd reason misaligned and mismatched in a 2019 video. He recalls from his childhood that they never used to look like that and claimed that Chuck E. Cheese went as far as the restaurant recycling uneaten slices, reheating them, and serving them to other customers. Which more and more customers have noticed they are misaligned and mismatched, not perfectly aligning with one another as a normal pizza would. When you search the pizzas from this chain, you see all these google images of the mismatched and misaligned pizza slices, but Chuck E. Cheese denied all these allegations. In an interview with Buzzfeed a spokesperson for Chuck E. Cheese stated, “The claims made in this video about Chuck E. Cheese’s and our pizza are unequivocally false. No conspiracies here – our pizzas are made to order and we prepare our dough fresh in the restaurant, which means that they’re not always perfectly uniform in shape, but always delicious.”
Another conspiracy that has surfaced on TikTok reveals something a little more disturbing within the walls of Chuck E. Cheese chains. As a child, you either enjoyed these singing animal characters or were deathly afraid of them. Creepy stories surfacing on the internet of people seeing these animatronics behave strangely and move. On Twitter, there was a tweet that consisted of two pictures, regarding the animatronics, from a supposed Chuck E. Cheese manual for those who work the night shift, and it read “It is always important that all Chuck. E. Cheese’s night-shift employees must wear a spare Chuck E. Cheese costume head to avoid any animatronic facial recognition because if they spot any humans in the building post-hours, they will automatically detect that person as a criminal trying to tamper with objects from the building, and that won’t lead to anything good…” Which gets you thinking what those animatronics would do to someone who was mistaken for a criminal and why would they be programmed in such a way in the first place. As a worker, you supposedly always have to take these precautions so that bad things would not happen from these animatronics. Causing the Five Nights At Freddy’s Fans to stir up more stories about Chuck E. Cheese relating it to FNAF’s not knowing if these rumors are true or not.
Some people do not know if they could ever look at Chuck E. Cheese the same again.
