The NFL season finally kicked off and what an opening night game it was. The New England Patriots were supposed to receive their Super Bowl rings and secure win number one of what many believed would be an undefeated season. Instead the Kansas City Chiefs came into Foxboro and gave it to the Pats, ending their 105 game home winning streak. It’s hard to determine if the win was because of a good Chiefs team or just terrible play by Brady and the Pats, but it started the season with a bang. 28 more teams will be in action this week, so here’s a preview of some of opening week’s best match-ups.
Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers
There aren’t a lot of great match-ups this week, but the Seahawks vs the Packers are one of them. The “Legion of Boom”, or at least what is left of them, have quite a test off the bat going against Aaron Rodgers opening week. Expect a close game, and I mean the outcome won’t be decided until the final drive. That being said there isn’t a QB I trust more with the game on the line than Rodgers, so I’m rolling with the Packers
28-24 Green Bay Packers
Atlanta Falcons vs Chicago Bears
The last time we saw the Falcons play, the whole world witnessed the greatest Super Bowl collapse in NFL history and now it’s time for their revenge tour. The Falcons have one goal this season and that’s to get back to the Super Bowl, and I believe they will set the tone for the season this game. It’s just unfortunate for Chicago who happens to be opponent number one. I’ll be honest I have no faith in the Bears, not with Mike Glennon as the starter and an unproven rookie as the backup. Expect this one to be over by the half.
35-17 Atlanta Falcons
Game Of The Week: New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys
The NFL are some clever people, I’m going to give them that. The story of the off-season has been Ezekiel Elliott and his six game suspension. He was supposed to be suspended for this game, but the NFL knowing this is one of the biggest games of the year, found a way to make sure the Dallas Cowboys’ superstar is on the field for it and begins his suspension right after it. Good finessing. With Elliott being available for this game, the Cowboys now have a good chance to win, and that chance will get bigger if Odell Beckham Jr. can not play. The Giants offense might be without their best receiving weapon, which isn’t good considering their run game is already suspect. The Giants have too many question marks and the Cowboys will be at full strength, so I believe round one will go to Dallas
27-13 Dallas Cowboys
