On Tuesday, November 19th, Antonio Brown posted a public apology to Robert Kraft and the Patriots team.
The post was released on Instagram and Brown managed to keep the message short and sweet. He wrote: “Mr. Kraft I apologize sincerely to you and your organization! All I wanted to be was an asset to the organization; sorry for the bad media and the drama ! Thank you sincerely AB”
Brown was originally released from the Patriots on September 20th after a long string of publicity mishaps as well as an ongoing sexual harassment claim from a former NFL athletic trainer. When he first parted from the Patriots, it seemed as if there was no going back for the wide receiver. His initial attitude alluded to the fact that he no longer wanted to be a part of the NFL, so his surprise definitely came as a shock, but a welcomed one at that.
Tom Brady liked the Instagram post and commented a few smiley faces on it as well. When asked about the reasoning behind his positive reaction, Brady stated: “I liked him. We had a great rapport when we were here, “I’m trying to support him to be the best person that he can be, that’s all.” Many other members of the Patriots and several NFL teams liked the post as well.
It is unclear whether Brown’s public apology will be enough to get him back into the good graces of the Patriots or any other NFL team for that matter. At the moment he has enough to focus on considering that he is still dealing with the sexual allegations against him. He is also still seeking grievances in the amount of $39.775 million in lost salary, bonuses, and guaranteed money from the NFL.
Hopefully, his new-found positivity will carry him far, and we’ll be seeing him back on for Sunday night football soon.
