When we think of a billionaire we usually picture a guy or lady in business attire at an office, but do we ever picture them ripped at the gym? We can certainly picture Facebook tycoon Mark Zuckerberg because this week he worked out with two of UFC’s biggest fighters: Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. According to MMA Junkie, Israel Adesanya posted a series of photos on his social media of him, Mark, and Alexander at the gym. The pictures showed all three men shirtless with training shorts and standing on a mat. According to Men’s Journal, Israel and Alexander flew out to Zuckerberg’s “Northern California home” to train him.
On his Twitter post, Israel said: “No fugazi with Mark” and “This is Serious Business”, On Instagram Zuckerberg commented; ““It was an honor to train with you guys!”, all according to MMA Junkie. According to Marca Elon Musk, has been probing Zuckerberg to a fight. Musk even challenged him to a “penis measuring context” while also calling Zuckerberg a “cuck”. He tweeted: “Zuck is a cuck” and “I propose a literal dick measuring context” specifically.
According to Business Insider, UFC Goat George St-Pierre confirmed that “he had a great training session with Musk” in a July 3 tweet (a week prior to these photos of Zuckerberg and the legends being posted). The idea of a “cage match” started when Musk responded to an Instagram thread on Twitter saying: “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol” to which Zuckerberg responded (on his Instagram story) with “send me location”, all according to Forbes Magazine. One cool fun fact about Zuckerberg is that he “won a gold and silver medal at his first jiu-jitsu tournament back in May”, according to Men’s Journal. According to Yahoo Sports, Zuckerberg has emersed himself more and more into the UFC community, following “MMA accounts on social media”, and “attending an event” at the “UFC Apex in October” with his wife Priscilla Chan. It is refreshing to see that the billionaire seemingly adopted a love for the sport; we hope that love and dedication takes him far in the upcoming match.
People didn’t take this fight seriously at first, but after seeing these posts of Zuckerberg fans are finally starting to get convinced. UFC president Dana White went as far as to post a video of himself “sporting a Zuckerberg vs. Musk shirt that was made available for purchase on the UFC’s website”, also according to Forbes Magazine. Even though Musk is bulkier, Zuckerberg is younger, so this fight should definitely be entertaining to watch.
I’ve heard of celebrities brawling, but I have never heard of billionaires fighting so this should be a very interesting and fun match. Whether this fight happens or not as a UFC fan as well as someone that uses social media, I would not want to miss that brawl.
