Journalist Laura Ingraham told her viewers that no one cared about NBA Player Lebron James’s opinion on societal and political issues. She ended her rant by making a harsh comment towards James, which she included, “shut up and dribble”. James was the first to respond to her statement during her segment on Fox News.
“If you still haven’t figured out why the protesting is going on. Why we’re acting as we are is because we are simply F-N tired of this treatment right here! Can we break it down for you any simpler than this right here? And to my people don’t worry I won’t stop until I see change.” James posted via Twitter.

After being told to not be vocal about political issues, now a certain politician is challenging James to take the CDC approved Covid-19 vaccine. It seems like many people want the basketball player to be political after all. U.S Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams spoke with KTLA 5 Morning News in Los Angeles where he opened the challenge for the reigning NBA Champion player.
“LeBron James, I know you’ve been a big supporter of masks. I want to know when you’re going to take the shot. Not the basketball shot, but the COVID shot. Because I did it because I know it’s safe, and we want to make sure people understand this is how we end the pandemic.” Adams urged during the broadcast.
Adams also told fans that he hasn’t spoken to James personally about getting the vaccine. Even though James hasn’t responded to Adams challenge just yet, Adams challenge does have one problem. Adams challenging James to take the vaccine does interfere with the government’s recommendation on who should be getting vaccinated right now.
Which according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is recommended that “both health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities be first in line for any coronavirus vaccines that get emergency authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration.”
With the world receiving shipments of the Covid-19 vaccine, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver emphasized that the league will not skip ahead of anyone for Covid-19 vaccinations. In a conference call with other NBA writers, Silver stated, “We will wait our turn to get the vaccine. When you think about the logistical feat that now the federal and state governments are undertaking, where if every citizen ultimately requires two doses and with a population of over 300 million, it’s beyond comprehension when you start to begin to think about the challenges of transporting and distributing this vaccine.”
With Silver admitting that the NBA does not plan on rushing to make sure its players receive the Covid-19 vaccine, it’s quite obvious that Lebron James will most likely decline Adams’s challenge.
