Last week we highlighted Monte Booker as a producer to watch, and now he’s delivered on his tweet promising new music by releasing two new songs on his SoundCloud. On “Kompany,” he invites frequent collaborator Smino as well as Phoelix to rap over his “future bounce” production.
Smino and Monte’s chemistry has been established for a while now, and once again the duo comes through on a can’t miss track for the summer. Smino is a master at altering his inflection at will to match the producer’s winding beats, and can speed up or slow his cadence to further complicate the exercise in sound. He delivers one of his best bars yet at the end of the first verse, rapping “I kiss my rosary, hoping these hoes a’ be as cold as this jamo and soda be / My pockets on Monique, these booches all on me, I feel like I’m Professor Ogalvee.”
Monte and the rest of the Zero Fatigue Collective are doing big things, and if you haven’t already started following them, you need to take notice. Check out their newest release below!
