Brooklyn! Brooklyn! Brooklyn!
At the expense of New York Knicks fans everywhere, the Brooklyn Nets come away as the biggest winners of the first day of NBA free agency with the signings of marquee NBA All-Stars, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. And how about defensive anchor, DeAndre Jordan added in for good measure?
ESPN very own, Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news just mere minutes before the 6 pm NBA Free Agency kick-off.

Kevin Durant also confirmed the news on his Boardroom Instagram account.
What this means going forward?
While Kevin Durant is scheduled to miss the entirety of the 2019-20 season with a Ruptured Right Achilles, this upcoming NBA season is not a wash year in the slightest for these rising Brooklyn Nets. The Brooklyn Nets seemingly made an upgrade at the point guard spot in swapping DeAngelo Russell for Kyrie Irving as well as adding elite rebounder and rim protector, DeAndre Jordan to their starting line up in place of the young Jarrett Allen. The Nets also add veteran 3 and D specialist, Garrett Temple to the squad on a two-year deal. Brooklyn Nets fans must also be excited about having a healthy Caris Levert, who looked like the second coming of Tracy McGrady for a stretch before going down with a dislocated foot injury earlier in the season which was thought to be a season-ending injury at the time. Even without Kevin Durant for this upcoming season, it is not out of the question that if the remainder of this team remains healthy, they could realistically challenge for one of two Eastern Conference Finals slots.
Whether these moves lead to the first-ever NBA Championship for the Brooklyn Nets franchise is up in the air, but when discussing the winners of NBA Free Agency, there is no doubt that “Brooklyn Took It.”
