Willow Smith ‘Red Table Talk’ Reveals her thoughts on Unconventional Relationships

Last week’s edition of Red table talk was very interesting and kind of awkward to watch. Singer-songwriter, Willow Smith definitely didn’t hold back in this alarming episode.




The discussion leads with polyamorous relationships and how do you feel about this particular relationship. Polyamory meaning the practice of, or desire for, intimate relationships with more than one partner, with the consent of all partners involved.

“This is the thing, there are so many different kinds of people in the world that I couldn’t see myself in a quadruple, but male and female that’s all I need”, said Smith. Also admitting, “I feel like I could be polyfidelity with those people.”

The “Whip My Hair” artist explained that she isn’t all that interested in traditional monogamy or marriages. Some come to believe it’s because Jada and Will Smith are allegedly swingers themselves, so it has brought a light on to what relationships could be like with others involved. Watching this could be a little uncomfortable because the 18-year-old is very vocal to tell her grandmother and mother exactly why she’s so interested. Apparently, she has been interested in some time now, according to her mother, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

“ I think this is the scariest thought that people shy away from. It’s the feeling of the person you love falling in love with some else. And that insecurity and fear it’s us alive.




That insecurity we need to overcome and something we need to evolve out of and transmute that new that could be helpful and help us love more and help us love more freely. Monogamy, I feel actually inhibited you from learning those skills of evolving past those feelings of insecurities”, said singer-songwriter, Willow Smith.

Everybody can’t agree with this idea of throuples and three-way relationships, especially her own grandmother. She continues to say she has observed this from her life. She is so young and already has the mindset of marriages fail if you are monogamous with one person. This could be true statistically, but Willow Smith sometimes comes off biting more than she can chew.




18 years isn’t a long time to observe the different lifestyle and beliefs, so her family clearly wanted to help her understand all sides of relationships/love in this episode. 




It seems like her mother has accepted her daughter’s preferences, however, not a lot of people could do the same after watching this. This is an episode worth watching to understand all perspectives and from different ages, adds a bit more understanding of where we are in today’s society.
