After the long eight month wait, Travis Scott finally delivers a 14- minute visual to his album “Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight”. The short film was released on March 13th, after Apple announced the album had officially hit a billion streams and is also one of the top ten most streamed albums on Apple Music. The video was directed by Fleur Fortune and it stars Travis Scott, as the rapper himself. In this video, the rappers goes on the car ride that will change his life forever.
From the beginning of the video, Travis goes from one situation to the next. He begins by leaving a spot with his girlfriend where they got into a minor altercation. She leaves his car and blames his ego being the reason for their altercation. Throughout his car ride, Travis is cruising through the city, playing one of his songs off his latest album, “Sweet sweet”. He encounters a few people on his way to his destination. Before he could reach his final stop, Travis was struck by another car. The accident leads to his death and the rest that follows is a representation of how the rappers sees the connection between life and death.
The visual does a very good job of explaining the full meaning of his album as well as incorporating the songs along with his visual. In a recent interview, Travis said, ““You know I’m always into film and I’m doing a short film with this album. I’m putting that out with the album. That’s also what’s taking it so long. I just shot it and shit. And it’s like a long, lengthy film. It’s all the shit that I’ve been doing. All this innovative shit I just wanna do. And there’s even more shit that I’m not gonna speak on now to be impactful,”
