90’s RnB group Xscape announced that they were back together on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station with host Big Tigger on The Big Tigger Show.
The group which consists of Kandi, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, Latocha and Tamika Scott had released three platinum albums before parting ways citing irreconcilable differences. A slanderous interview done by OG member Tameka Scott was said to be one of the main reasons why songwriter, Kandi was resistant in reuniting with the group. The quartet was supposed to sing together for a So So Def reunion back in 2013. Disappointingly, personal beefs prevented the performance of all four members from happening.
According to the interview with Big Tigger, a much needed conversation took place between feuding members Tameka Scott and Kandi after almost 20 years. From that point, apologies were made. The group members made a mutual decision to let bygones be bygones and get back to their roots, which is making feel good RnB music. There was nothing that hinted at any reunion tour or music records, but the group has confirmed that they will be performing together sooner than later.
Although we’ve enjoyed seeing Kandi, Tiny, and Latocha Scott on our favorite reality shows, it would be asinine not to mention that their music afforded them those onscreen opportunities. From watching the interview, the energy in the studio seemed positive and the ladies were visibly eager about the future of the singing group. After all, they do have enough platinum hits to go around. Whether its a Biopic, reunion, or another studio album in the works, we’re here for the reunion. Welcome back Xscape!
