The ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake has not only fueled a rap rivalry but also prompted a surge in streaming activity for both artists. Lamar’s recent diss tracks aimed at Drake, notably “Euphoria,” “Not Like Us,” and “Meet the Grahams,” have dominated charts and drawn significant attention from fans and critics alike.
“Euphoria” made an impressive debut at No. 11 on the Hot 100 chart, backed by a staggering 27.6 million U.S. on-demand audio streams in its initial days of release. Following closely, “Not Like Us” garnered 21.1 million streams within its first three days, while “Meet the Grahams” recorded 8.8 million streams during the same period. Additionally, classic songs sampled in Lamar’s diss tracks, such as Teddy Pendergrass’ “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” and Al Green’s “What a Wonderful Thing Love Is,” experienced significant spikes in streaming numbers.
Even beyond the diss tracks, Lamar’s entire catalog has witnessed a surge in streams. From May 3-6, his discography earned a remarkable 49% increase in streams compared to the previous tracking period. Meanwhile, Drake’s catalog experienced a slight dip of 5% in streaming numbers during the same timeframe, excluding his response tracks “Push Ups” and “Family Matters.”
While Drake maintains a significantly larger streaming audience overall, Lamar’s recent diss tracks have made a substantial impact on the charts and reinvigorated interest in his music across the board.
