It’s safe to say that Kanye West had us hip hop fans excited to hear his new album “Jesus Is King” on Friday, Sept. 27, but unfortunately, it was another false alarm. On the other hand, it was a shocker when fans found out a film would be released instead.
On Oct. 25, West’s film “Jesus Is King” will hit all IMAX theaters. According to the Washington Post, the film will consist of tracks off of the new album with a Gospel sound that didn’t include any curse words on it.
As we previously reported, a video surfaced the internet of West announcing his album release at one of his Sunday Services. The day had come and several memes were posted of people saying that they had been waiting for the album to drop all day.
Def Jam then announced on that Friday afternoon that they would have a release event for “Jesus Is King,” at the Fox Theatre Detroit, where attendee’s phones were locked away before they entered the theatre. Although they expected to hear the full album, they caught the new film that went along with it, which is why some tracks were heard.
Kim Kardashian-West took to Instagram and posted on her story that the album will be dropping this Sunday while he’s in New York City after his two listening parties, one in Chicago and the other in NYC. She also mentioned that West was editing some of the music before releasing it.
Kim says #JesusIsKing will NOT be released until Sunday.

Hopefully, the details we received from Kardashian-West go as planned, if not we will have to wait on Mr. West to make another confirmation.
