On Feb. 4, Cardi B dropped another hot track titled “Up” with an even hotter visual to go with it that has everyone talking.
But some of the conversations weren’t what we expected — the “Wap” rapper is being accused of stealing lyrics from two NY rappers, Mir Pesos and Mir Fontane.
In the chorus, Cardi raps, “If it’s up, then it’s up, then it’s up, then it’s stuck,” which sparked speculations from rappers Mir Pesos and Mir Fontane that she took the phrase from their single “Stuck.” They took to Twitter to address Cardi by tweeting her that they want their money and included a video of their music video in later tweets.

“Naaa im the type of person that avoids problems & court days .” Cardi explained through a retweet. “If i get inspired by a song I wouldn’t mind giving a percentage or couple of thousand but I never Hurd if [sic] this man.I’m glad while I was recording this song in August I was playing wit [sic] the hook on this live.”
Cardi also took a moment, herself, to tweet that she previewed the hook of the “Up” single on a live Instagram with Meg Thee Stallion. She even posted proof of the date that she went live. Then Mir Fontane fired back with the premiere of the “Stuck” single and writing, “How ya’ll morning going?”

According to the female rapper and Genuis, the phrase, “If it’s up, then it’s stuck,” is known to be a well-known slang phrase for, if there’s an issue, then there’s going to be one until it’s resolved. The “Wap” rapper explained in a live YouTube interview that the inspiration came from Offset since the Atlanta rapper uses it often, and it stuck to her.
The feud between the rappers continued through tweets. Each posted side-by-side clips of their music and each of their proofs to defend themselves. Cardi ended the disagreement with a tweet expressing, “F— the drama. RUN THE NUMBERS UP!!!”
