Rapper Doja Cat is continuing the visual rollout for her Planet Her era.
Doja Cat released the music video for her single, “Woman.” Directed by Child, the visually stunning video plays out as something similar to Michel Jackson’s “Remember the Times.” The video stars Teyana Taylor as a queen who learns when her kingdom is being threatened. With a stunning Egyptian-like backdrop, the music video is packed with tons of woman magic. From the front of the scenes to behind, Doja Cat pulls out all the stops to bring this project to life.
Girls Who Code, a nonprofit organization that aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science, collaborated with Doja Cat to pull off some incredible feats. The project becomes the world’s first codable music video, allowing fans to control the music experience in any way they like. In the press release for the project, the idea was “dreamt up in partnership with Mojo Supermarket and built by Active Theory.” You can check out the immersive version at DojaCode.
Doja Cat has continued to dominate the music industry with style and grace. Following her breakout hit album, Hot Pink, the female rapper has since become a household name. 2021 saw Doja Cat officially become a superstar icon with national brand deals and headlining status.
As award season approaches, Doja Cat is poised to sweep the nominations with Planet Her. The album has earned her eight Grammy nominations for the upcoming ceremony, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Last month, Doja Cat brought in three American Music Awards for Favorite Female R&B Artist, Favorite R&B Album for Planet Her, and Collaboration of the Year for the SZA team-up “Kiss Me More.”
