A$AP Mob hosted virtual Yams Day 2021 on Jan. 18 in honor of late member Yams. Normally, there would have been a festival, but with the pandemic still in effect, the crew brought the celebration to streaming services.
The virtual event was held for an hour and highlighted Yams in every way possible: many people shared memories, there was a special tribute from his mother, fun segments, freestyles as they did best, awards to artists, and snippets of new music.
Those who tuned into the special celebration were able to see the first sneak peeks of new music by A$AP Rocky. In a snippet of a music video preview, we see Rocky in a car with women holding a crocodile, as the song in the background is slowly playing lyrics about crocodile seats.

In another video, the Harlem rapper takes on an OnlyFans inspired video, as women dance naked around him while throwing money. His voice switches from regular to high pitch while he raps about Coronavirus, the government, and being himself.

He wrapped up Yams Day with a performance for “Sandman” on top of a liquor store in New York with the A$AP Mob crew. We get the smooth raps as it transitions to fast-paced rhyming to then into a melodic song.
“My mind like George Lucas, I think like Stanley Kubrick, house full of eucalyptus, that boy straight mucus, so let’s get straight to it, my chains is humungous, permanent bling my tooth is, yea, I’m a strange human/ This insane jewelry collection’ll [Sic]take a week to shoot it, record an album with Mercedes, let GQ EQ it…”
There have yet to be any announcements on when these songs will drop. You can watch the full event of Yams Day 2021 here.
