Just recently, the hit show True Detective dropped the trailer to its third season, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect from Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali as the leading role.
In the trailer, it shows his character Wayne Hayes, and Arkansas State police detective who responded to a traumatic case at three different ages in his life.
“Before you ever knew me, I wasn’t scared much. That wasn’t a fear for me. Things I’ve seen, things I know, wouldn’t do anything but cause harm,” he says in the voiceover… My job, there’s no certainty. This peace is more haunting than anything. I want to know the whole story.”
Moreover, the first season of the anthology series, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson debuted back in 2014 and received commercial and critical success. The follow-up, however, had big time actors such as Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams, but it didn’t receive the same positive feedback leaving the future of this series in uncertainty.
The latest season of true detective will be debuted in January 2019 on HBO.
