The beloved family sitcom from the ’90s, which still airs till this day, The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air, it is making its return as a spinoff and all thanks to Will Smith.
The original sitcom which ran between 1990 through 1996 on NBC for six seasons and Smith saw himself portraying a version of himself from West Philadelphia and moving to Bell-Air to live with his wealthy uncle and aunt.
The spinoff is set to be released from the new media company Westbrook Inc., co-founded by Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Speculations were made by fans that the show would return as an animated series when Smith took to Instagram sketches of the cast.
Smith recently launched his clothing line inspired by the show, Bel-Air athletics — named after the fictional school that his character attended on the show — includes hoodies, tees, sweatpants, socks, and a reversible track jacket.
No date for the premiere of the show has yet to be released, but there could be the possibility for a release next year since the show will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
