Although Game of Thrones may be ending this year, HBO is not quite ready to let go of such a promising and lucrative franchise. This is why the channel is making strides to create a prequel series which has been rumored to be titled with The Long Night. Per the name, the prequel will delve into the original long winter that brought the White Walkers upon Westeros. The white walkers, the Starks origins, and the history of the mystical creatures will also be touched upon in this prequel. Josh Whitehouse and Naomi Watts were cast to star in the series, but now according to The Hollywood Reporter, has revealed new actors and actresses that will be a part of the cast as well.
Naomi Ackie (next appearing in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars), Denise Gough (Guerrilla, Tony-nominated for Angels in America), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd, Twilight, Mortal Instruments), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror, Humans), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Alex Sharp (To the Bone) and Toby Regbo (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald) are all set to be regulars in the prequel. Actual details about which characters the actors and actresses will play have not been uncovered, nor will we possibly get a glimpse until Game of Thrones concludes this Spring.
