Starting in March, millennial’s will go back in time to when R&B boy bands were stealing every girl’s heart. B2K, the iconic 2000’s group of four announced news of The Millennial Tour, where they will take the stage together for the first time in over a decade! There will also be performances by the era’s music favorites such as Mario, Pretty Ricky, Lloyd, Bobby V, Ying Yang Twins, and Chingy.
You can remember B2K members Lil’ Fizz, J-Boog, Raz-B and lead singer Omarion with the instant success they had when they came together in 1998, reaching #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and #1 on the U.S Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs albums chart. They were the face taped to thousands of room walls, bright poster boards — ringtones to cell phones, and the cause of first heartbreaks due to their messy split in 2004.

So what have the former members been up to since? TUC magazine was able to catch up with Raz-B, to discuss the reunion tour, his solo career, exciting plans and much more!
Claribel: How are you feeling & what’s the most exciting part about going back on tour with B2K?
Raz-B: I’m feeling good I did about 1000 sit-ups, worked out for a long time! I’m feeling very empowered, feeling healthy inside and out, getting ready for this tour. There was a big transition process, but, I’m just very grateful that I have the opportunity to be in this position to be able to empower and to show up, and what’s greater than that!? I was a kid with a dream, that actually picked to live the dream you know what I mean? But much is required, so beyond overwhelming.
Claribel: Each of the group members ventured out into different careers. What was that like for you, especially coming from such an iconic band?
Raz-B: I think it was a professional roller coaster, you have to take it one day at a time. For me, B2K was a chapter of my book, another chapter was me going to China for 7 years. I think we all had our own journeys, and we all needed to mature in our own environments. Much is given, much is required… I’m blessed and I’m grateful.
Claribel: What were your experiences like in China, and what made you come back to the U.S?
Raz-B: China was amazing…they have the #1 economy in the world, I speak the language I mean, it was humbling for me to grow up and mature, and to be able to come back and do what I’m doing now. My mom! I missed her and my family. I wanted to fulfill this dream of being back on stage doing what I love to do.
Claribel: Are there any other professions that you would take on in the future after the tour?
Raz-B: Definitely, I mean the film has always been a passion for me. I’ve had semi-success with fundraising and that was pretty cool. I had all these big shot actors and producers coming to chill because, you know, I was a fundraiser. I’m also very interested in apparel and technology.
Claribel: If you could do it all over again, from child star to where you are now, would you change anything from the process?
Raz-B: I just really want to be on point, and be obedient to what it is I need to accomplish. I would probably do it better.
Claribel: Is there any advice that you would give to people who are trying to get into music or back to it after a while?
Raz-B: Across the board, keep all your thoughts with Christ. Long story short just focus your mind. Focus your mind on one thing, and allow for that to manifest into everything else. That’s pretty much it, follow the roads, treat everyone the way you want to be treated. You just got to be strong with your character. Sometimes they’ll make you want to follow them but be a leader. You have to be willing to sacrifice yourself, for change.
Claribel: If you could describe yourself in 3 words what words would you use?
Raz-B: Man Of God
Raz-B shows that he’s ready to hit the stage with B2K once again. Although there are no signs of the group officially getting back together, the air is cleared and the past is behind, so fans will be sure to make new memories with the four that stole their hearts way back when.
