Just the other day, Beyoncé introduced her one-month-old twins to the entire world which in turn gave exposure to the Palomo Spain menswear line by Alejandro Gómez. The piece that Bey was wearing in the photo is from this collection, and she had put out a personal order for the piece before she was even pregnant.
She was sent a couple samples and decided she wanted this specific piece, Palomo said. All of her measurements and sample was tailored was sent back only to the brand team to discover that she was pregnant.
“We thought, okay, she won’t wear it, oh well,” Palomo said. It became a pleasant surprise to see her in the item… It had a mid-century quality—but we changed that…it’s a gown, now, that almost has the shape of a big fur coat—sleeved and open.”
The piece itself is vintage silk from a really old couture textile shop in Córdoba, Spain that was from around the 1950’s and 1960’s.
