J. Cole has been surprising fans back to back with his creativity from writing an article in The Players Tribune about his life, to releasing two tracks off his next album The Fall Off. Now, the Dreamville head honcho has teamed up with Puma to release his basketball-style shoe, RS-Dreamer.
On July 28, Cole took to Instagram to showcase the new shoe displayed in the clouds, which ties together perfectly with the name. The black-based shoe features colors of orange, yellow, purple, green, and white at the mid-sole and bottom half of it.
The release came with a short commercial that showed Cole in a gym playing basketball. The K.O.D artist is found taking a breather on the side of the court as another version of him is practicing shooting balls behind. Rapper and former basketball player, Master P’s voice-over then speak to him giving Cole a pep talk about whether or not he’s going to do “it.”
Many aren’t sure exactly what “it” is. It could be the shoe itself, or it could be Cole signing to an official basketball team, as he mentioned in his article that he had a dream before he took off in the rap game.
There have been several basketball players spotted wearing the RS-Dreamers such as Kyle Kuzma and DeAndre Ayton. Little did we know that Wale had received a pair before the drop of the shoe, as he shared a photo wearing them with the caption reading “Beautiful Bliss” including clouds and tagging Cole’s Instagram. Cole even posted a pic of Wale rocking them in the studio.
RS-Dreamers dropped Friday, July 31, and are currently sold out on the Puma website and Footlocker site. Hopefully, you got lucky enough to cop them or will be in the future.
