Sunday 11th October, the Los Angeles Lakers won their 17 NBA championship during the finals against the Miami Heat.
The trophy was presented in a custom-made trunk, made by Louis Vuitton.
At this moment, the French luxury house took the opportunity to announce a new collaboration designed by Virgil Abloh with the famous basketball league.
And what do these ready-to-wear pieces look like? All the clothes are a combination of two of the world’s best-known logos, the Louis Vuitton Monogram and the miniature NBA basketball player in a blue and red background. Plus, to arouse desire and euphoria, this is a limited collection and will be delivered into stores for a limited time.
The choice of pieces is very wide, inspired by a day in the life of a player. There is something for every occasion.
The travel between each game is
symbolized by a set of grey cashmere
tracksuits, featuring the famous Louis
Vuitton Monogram, as well as the logo of
the National Basketball Association.
The second moment is the player’s legendary arrival, represented here by a blue leather hooded jacket,
but there are also jeans and T-shirt.
Finally, the suits and shirts
designed in a jacquard style which
refers obviously to press conferences.
Virgil Abloh – the artistic director of
the men’s universe – added that «this
collection pays tribute to the cultural
contribution of basketball and its
diversity, to the powerful message of
brotherhood it carries today».
And to finish off in style, this
collection will be launched on
November 20th, so get ready to shop
these amazing limited pieces!
