Hip Hop seems to already play a role in the basketball world, but the new apparel collaboration between Bleacher Report, Mitchell & Ness and several rappers was the perfect statement for the impact the two have on each other.
On Feb. 25, the NBA Remix Collection was released and brought together Hip Hop and Basketball fans. The collection was designed with the help of several rappers such as Future, Big Sean, Schoolboy Q, DJ Khalid, Wale, E-40, No Limit, The Diplomats and Travis Scott, who all repped their hometown teams in the collaboration.
The clothing includes the logo of each of the different teams with a unique touch of the rappers’ taste. Schoolboy Q’s jersey can be found in blue tie-dye and features the Los Angeles Lakers and the Top Dawg Ent. logo with South Central written on it. DJ Khalid’s version of the Miami Heat’s jersey can be found with gold chains around the neck and arm area. It also features a key placed right in the middle of the jersey just below the “Heat” logo.
“Bleacher Report lives at the intersection of sports and culture,” Ed Romaine, Bleacher Report CMO mentioned in the press release. “The NBA Remix Collection is probably the best physical representation of this mission. It fuses Hip Hop music and basketball at the local level, with innovative designs that will drive conversation amongst a community of fans who are the new vanguard of style.”
The collaboration features several different options of clothing, such as T-shirts, hoodies, hats, shorts, and long-sleeved shirts. The prices range from $40 to $175 and can be found online at BleacherReportShop.com.
